Location: Providence, RI, 0290
Duration: 2+ Months
Hours/Week 35/ 8: 30 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay rate: $26.59/hr. on W2 without benefits


Role & Responsibilities:
  • Review and process licensing and registration applications in an agency with regulatory responsibility for specific businesses, industries, professions/occupations or similar activities.
  • Maintain records on both manual and computerized systems relating to licensure.
  • Interact with the public on an ongoing basis.
  • Review and approve submitted forms to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
  • Identify instances of missing or incomplete documentation, and initiate action to procure required data.
  • Receive fees and other monies pertaining to licensing transactions, and to maintain simple records thereof.
  • Respond to inquiries concerning licensing matters through correspondence and in person licensees and the general public.
  • Enter data into the computer, generating various licenses and registrations.
  • Entering fees into electronic cash registers and collecting appropriate monies.
  • Perform clerical tasks including typing, filing, recordkeeping, phone coverage, and other related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidently of records and information.
  • Ability to properly manage and maintain physical and electronic records.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, computer software, and hardware.
  • Ability to take initiative in identifying problems and working creatively to solve them.
  • A thorough working knowledge of office administrative practices and computer database systems.
  • Ability to work independently on difficult or relatively complex tasks.
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with the public and licensees.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain effective relationships with associates or with the public.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum education required: High School diploma.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume office preferred
  • Experience using computer software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
