What you'll do:

Western Alliance Bank's Sponsor Finance practice is seeking a high performing, junior underwriting and portfolio management professional to support and expand its Technology Sponsor Finance Lending platform. This role is designed for individuals with prior experience in private credit, investment banking, or technology-focused commercial banking.The primary responsibilities will include working closely with the deal team and credit administration professionals to drive initial modeling, structuring, underwriting and coordination of closing on private-equity backed transactions. The role requires strong modeling skills, financial statement analysis, presentation skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Evaluate and execute credit facilities in support of leveraged buyouts, M&A, dividend recapitalizations and refinancings for private equity sponsors
  • Prepare and present memos from initial meeting with the private equity sponsor, executive management team to final close of the transaction
  • Deliver detailed credit analyses via memorandum that is included but not limited to: business overview, capital structure, key investment merits and risks, industry/competitive landscape, cash flow projections/sensitivity analysis, and other supporting reasons for recommendation to credit administration
  • Build financial models with a focus on theassessment of growth projections, cash flow, and sensitivity analysis
  • Manage and monitor a portfolio, including tracking and analyzing performance, amendment requests and communicating updates to the credit administration

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, and pricing dynamics. Credit analyst training completed.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $100,370.00 - $123,983.00 for Chicago, IL. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
