Aquent is partnering with a nationally recognized retail company to hire a Retail Design & Construction Coordinator supporting the team responsible for designing, building, and remodeling stores across a portfolio of well-known consumer brands.

This contract role is ideal for a project coordinator who enjoys keeping projects organized, collaborating across teams, and seeing ideas come to life in physical spaces. You'll support store projects from Design Development through Construction, helping track milestones, coordinate project documentation, support permit processes, and keep Design, Construction, Real Estate, and external partners aligned.

If you're energized by great retail experiences and want to build a career in store development, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full retail project lifecycle while working alongside experienced design and construction professionals.

What You'll Do:

You'll play a key role in supporting retail store projects across the full lifecycle-from early design phases through construction:

  • Support project planning from Design Development through Construction Drawings and Permit submission.
  • Track key milestones and timelines across multiple store projects.
  • Coordinate updates between Design, Construction, Real Estate, and external partners.
  • Organize and maintain project files, including drawings, plans, and approvals.
  • Track permit submissions, approvals, and status updates.
  • Manage document flow across shared systems.
  • Monitor progress updates and flag potential risks or delays.
  • Track milestones across both internal teams and external partners (including landlords).
  • Support coordination of construction-related communications and updates.
  • Assist with preparing presentations and project materials for reviews.
  • Support scheduling, invoice tracking, and general coordination tasks.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for someone with project-based work experience who is ready to build on that foundation.

  • 1-3 years of experience (retail experience is desired).
  • Exposure to project planning, design development, construction documentation, or permitting processes.
  • Understanding of, or experience with, project milestones and timelines.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work well across teams.
  • Proactive approach and ownership of tasks.
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams and priorities.

Qualifications That Will Set You Apart:

  • Deeper exposure to design development, construction drawings, or permit processes.
  • Experience tracking project milestones across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external partners (vendors, landlords, consultants, etc.).
  • Familiarity with project documentation or shared file systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tracking tools.

This role is not focused on hands-on design or creative production-it's centered on coordination, organization, and supporting project execution.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $27 to $31/hr. Compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
