Overview The Department of Biology at Utah State University (https://artsci.usu.edu/biology/) is hiring a 9 month (academic year) tenure track Assistant Professor at our Moab campus. The role for the position will be 70% teaching, 25% research, and 5% service. The start date for the position is expected to be either 1-July OR 1-August, 2026. Application review will begin on 5-May and continue until the position is filled. Responsibilities The teaching duties will primarily focus on human anatomy and physiology, but will include other courses that benefit the Moab student population (mostly nursing students), including microbiology and introductory biology; most courses taught will include both lecture and lab components and load will typically be 8 credits per semester. Additional courses in the candidate's area of specialization or that take advantage of the unique ecology of Moab are possible - applicants with experience in place-based and experiential education are especially encouraged to apply. The research program is expected to primarily serve undergraduate students and focus on the natural history and fauna in and around Moab, Utah. Qualifications
