Provides oversight for programs and services that support the overall medical student experience, and to promote a healthy, engaged learning environment for medical students. *This position is ON SITE only**

Examples of Duties
-
Student Life- Events, Travel, Student Organizations 60%
- Plan and coordinate, along with the Office Manager, major student programming including Senior Week, Student Winter Ball, Student Clothing Sales, student organizational groups activities, Wellness Celebrations, etc
- Coordinate logistics and timelines including scheduling venue coordination, vendor communication, catering, and working with Fiscal Office for budgetary tracking.
- Coordinate with the Office Manager Student Affinity groups, class officers, or any other organization or group to discuss budgets, rules, forms to complete and any expectations of university and Student Affairs policies.
- Coordinates with Office Manager all activities related to the production, printing and distribution of fourth year medical students' yearbook. Duties will include sending appropriate communication to students, their families and vendors; instructing students in the proper University procedures, authorizing transactions; scheduling meetings, arranging student training, and providing specialized assistance.
- Partners with student organizations and student affairs leadership to develop engaging programming aligned with institutional goals.
- Partners to promote student activities, OSA events and etc when applicable using Canva for flyers, emails, etc.
- Utilizes Signup Genius, Survey Monkey, and RedCap to build surveys and data for reports and decision making.
- Track engagement, attendance, and program outcomes.
- Coordinate student travel with Office Manager logistics for conference, presentations, and other institutional programs, along with documentation, etc.
- Coordinate with the Fiscal Officer travel approvals
- Provides guidance to students, along with the Office Manager, regarding travel procedures and funding approvals.
- Serves as resource for student organizations and leadership groups.
- Support student engagement strategies that foster belonging and campus community.
Student Wellness Support and Student Resource Programs 40%
- Assist in the development and implementation of student wellness initiatives and well-being programming while working with the Fiscal Officer
- Coordinates workshops for student wellness
- Support initiatives designed to improve student wellness indicators and engagement metrics.
- Collaborate with counseling services, student health, and wellness committees.
- Coordinate basic need programs including student food pantry and emergency support services.
- Maintain inventory and oversee distribution procedures.
- Partner with campus and community organizations to expand access to resources.
- Promote awareness of available student support services.
- Assist with student feedback collection and report outcomes to leadership.
- Support assessment of student wellness trends and program effectiveness
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
Credentials to be Verified by Placement Officer
- Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Affairs, Business Administration, Communications or closely related field.
- 1 year of work experience supporting or coordinating events, programs/projects, student services, wellness programming, or administrative operations. Relevant experience may include but not limited to:
- Planning and coordinating events, programs, or activities including logistics and communications.
- Supporting student facing or customer service functions in higher education, healthcare, nonprofit or similar setting.
- Manage multiple tasks or projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Assisting with operational processes such as scheduling, recordkeeping, or program coordination.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Administration and Management Knowledge of business and management principles involved in the presentation and delivery of academic programs, strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, recruitment methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Knowledge of educational, evaluation, and measurement principles, practices, methods, and techniques, university policies and procedures.
- Must possess a pleasant personality and demonstrate initiative and maturity in working relationships.
- The position required strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage complex event logistics, student travel coordination, and wellness initiatives that support the student experience.
- The role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to the evolving needs of students.
- Experience planning events, programs, or student engagement activities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.
- Must be able to work without close supervision.
- Must be able to work successfully on multiple tasks at a time.
- Must have a working knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Office)
- Must have the ability to organize work flow effectively and efficiently and must be able to process detailed, complex, and confidential work with accuracy.
- Must have well developed public relation skills.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality.
- Must be able to function effectively in an environment which is sometimes stressful and/or fast paced.
- Must be sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
