Position Title: Pharmacist

Work Location: North Chicago, Illinois, USA 60064

Assignment Duration: 6 Months Assignment

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts; shifts could vary between 7 am and 7:30 pm

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:

Pharmacist I reviews prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determines the required formulas and ingredients. They direct pharmacy workers in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, and provide information to customers regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.

Key Responsibilities:

* Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients.

* Compounds medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.

* Directs pharmacy workers in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.

* Provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.

* Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

* Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.

* Assays medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.

* Instructs interns and other medical personnel on pharmacy-related matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Must be licensed in Illinois.

* Retail Pharmacy experience (e.g., CVS, Walgreens, Target).

* Comfortable standing all day and able to push carts weighing up to 30 lbs.

* Experience with high-volume orders (mail order or related environments).

* Multitasking skills.

* Great communication skills.

* Self-motivated.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

* Candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day and pushing carts up to 30 lbs.

* Work will be in a distribution area, with some occasional pushing of carts.

* No heavy lifting is required.

Additional Information:

* Potential future interaction with patients and providers, but not initially.

* The work schedule can vary and includes a rotating shift pattern.
