Summary of Job Duties:This position is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Speech Therapist works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide the best evidence-based practice evaluation and therapy techniques. Performs evaluations and develops effective treatment plans to restore, maintain or prevent decline of resident function, by planning and administering medically prescribed therapy treatments in accordance with federal, state and professional standards governing the facility. This position will provide therapy evaluations and treatments for speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing facility and in an outpatient setting. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology
  • Must have an Arkansas license and an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence or be eligible pending completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Clinical experience with the geriatric population
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to bend, stand, walk, eyesight, hearing, drive, speak, and repetitious movement, lifting, weight lifted 50 lbs. lift to: waist, 50 lbs. chest, 50 lbs. above head 20 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FEES certified. LSVT-LOUD and Vital-stim certified

  • Conducts speech-language evaluations
  • Writes reports detailing scores, descriptions of patients, and the need for therapies
  • Implement speech therapy

  • Completes billing and charting procedures
  • Participates in treatment teams
  • Maintains knowledge of theories and techniques in the field of communication disorders

Administration

  • Documents daily treatments and observations in patient's progress notes and prepares monthly patient performance summary as related to program goals and objectives
