If you want to make a difference, we want to hear from you. Job Summary SUMMARY Responsible for managing and safeguarding patient belongings and other property within the facility. Duties include documenting, storing, and retrieving items such as valuables, lost and found property, and supplies. Maintains accurate records using tracking systems and ensures compliance with policies. Communicate with patients, staff, visitors, and law enforcement to facilitate property transfers. May handle disposal of unclaimed items consistent with protocols. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives, stores and issues money and valuables, prepares records that include description of items, names of owners, and reason for retention. Maintain accurate inventory of collected items to ensure all items are accounted for.
- Ensures the proper handling and accountability of money, valuables and other registered items in the patient valuables office
- Provide customer service and perform general office tasks (filing, data entry, answering phones).
- Contact owners via telephone or other communication methods including but not limited to letters to notify owners to claim property, and releases lost and found property to owners upon proof of ownership.
- Prepares list of articles required by law to be destroyed and at the direction of department leader, destroys in presence of official witnesses.
- Prepares inventory of unclaimed articles for possible destruction or disposal. Ensure proper chain of custody and policy compliance.
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and post orders.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED is required

- Must have experience using Microsoft applications and performing data entry.
- Must type 30 - 35 WPM.
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Two to three years of clerk or general office experience is preferred
