Responsibilities
Share in the exciting experience of leadership within a behavioral health hospital setting. Utilize your Leadership skills to lead department as Director of Intake/Admissions Residential Services and become part of the leadership team. The Director of Admissions is accountable for the oversight of the hospital's Admissions Department and supports the purpose of the entire admission process. The Director of Admissions creates and maintains department procedures in the following areas: census maintenance, daily census records, inquiry calls and referrals phone log, and ensures that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all patient needs. Coordinates all admissions into the facility. This position interfaces closely with the hospital's medical staff, nursing staff, other department heads, as well as referring agencies and payers. The Director of Admissions is responsible for the department's budget, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data management/analysis. In addition, the Director of Admissions participates with the senior leadership team in the development and management of processes related to the hospital's strategic goals. San Marcos Treatment Center,a 212-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas! San Marcos spreads across 65-acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife. We have 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning. Qualifications Job Requirements: Excellent communication skills, i.e., verval and written. Ability to prioritize; work well under periods of high stress and pressure. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Demonstrates an understanding of funding entities. Through knowledge of psychiatric services provided by hospital. Requires a basic understanding of computers; and accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of insurance contracts and payors. Knowledge of precertification for level of care. Excellent telephone and customer service skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families, and referral sources. Applying service excellence skills in all interactions. Education: Masters preferred with major academic studies in psychology, social work or health/counseling field; including appropriate on-the-job training and experience to meet the duties and responsibilities of this position. Experience: Must have three (3) years experience working in a clinical setting providing direct patient care and/or previous admission experience. Must have marketing and sales abilities, as well as, the ability to complete clinical assessments. Licensure/Certification: None required. What do our current employee's value at UHS?
