Job Profile Summary:

Thisroleshall provide field oversight support for the Natural Resources Management (NRM)Enterprise Safe Access Program (ESAP). Field oversight support tasks includes performing access road inspections in the field, completing desktop reviews of assigned inspection areas, field collecting spatial data within the approved GIS platform, completing inspection reports which include a clear, concise narrative description of current road conditions and suggested or prescribed work, photos, and maps, overseeing contractors performing access road construction and/or maintenance work, conducting safety engagements, and reporting any safety hazards, concerns, or conditions of nonconformance. These tasks will be assigned to the oversight contractor by the Land Program Manager (LPM) assigned to the service territory.

Oversight contractors must be knowledgeable and capable ofidentifyingand mitigating the inherent risks associated with field work, be able to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external clients,maintaina professional standard of work and behavior, and provide complete deliverablesin a timely manner. Oversight contractors for the Access Road team must also be specifically knowledgeable of proper road design, road hazards, road conditions of non-conformance, road construction methods, equipment, and the limitations thereof.

Oversight Contractors are also responsible for ensuring that they themselves and the contractors they are overseeing are adhering to applicable PG&E Procedures and Standards, including but not limited to SAFE-3001S, EMER-4102S, and LAND-4003P-01.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • RuralAccess Road Inspections

  • Desktop review of assigned inspection areas prior to entering the field

  • Visual inspection and field collection of spatial road and operational data

  • Update existing road data as necessary

  • Identifyand map operational data, including but not limitedto:areas wherevegetation encroached into the road prism, slumps, slides, culverts, bridges, stormwater features, erosion, rutting, etc.

  • Identifyand map all road safety hazards

  • All collected data shall adhere to the data quality standards provided by the ARM Program

  • Provide inspection reports which include:

  • Narrative description of current road conditions

  • Narrative suggestion for prescribed scope of work

  • Photo documentation of current road conditions

  • Maps that show inspection area

  • Report any safety hazards, concerns, or conditions of nonconformance found before, during, or after the access road inspection

  • Field operations management of road project activities

  • Field visits of active project construction or maintenance work

  • Provide construction Contractors with guidance in the field to ensure proper road construction practices and design

  • Conduct safety engagements and Field Safety Observations (FSOs) on construction vendors performing road project work

  • Reporting any safety hazards, concerns, or conditions of nonconformance associated with active project work

Qualifications:

  • A two-year degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Environmental Studies, Conservation, Natural Resources, or

  • related fields AND/OR

  • Two years' experience in line clearance tree pruning work or Forestry Management work or equivalent as determined by the PG&E Representative

  • Familiar with arboriculture techniques and practices, proper integrated pest management practices, PG&Es tree pruning

  • Specifications and knowledge of rural roadway access road inspections

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook] or similar software suite

  • Possess a valid driver's license

The basesalaryrange represents the low and high end of the ACRT Pacificsalaryrange for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited tocustomer contact terms,location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.
