Title: Clerk IV (Receptionist) Executive Area: Student Affairs & Campus Life College/School/MBU: Campus Life & Wellbeing Department: Ctr Counseling & Psych Health Work Location: Amherst Schedule:Full Time Work Arrangement:Hybrid Job Summary The Clerk IV (Receptionist) provides critical first contact to students (clients) in need of mental health services at the Center for Counseling & Psychological Health (CCPH). Greets clients, registers client demographic and insurance information in Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Receives and enters various forms of Protected Health Information (PHI) into the EHR via secure processes compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Processes patient payments. Answers and appropriately redirects all incoming calls. Schedules client appointments. Essential Functions Greets and directs clients and other visitors. Interfaces with the public in a busy office atmosphere regarding personal and sensitive health concerns. Recognizes emotional crises requiring immediate professional attention. Other Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Previous medical secretarial schooling or experience. Additional Details Qualifications acquired on the job: Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion. Work Schedule and Work Arrangement Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm. This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the University Staff Association, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the University Staff Association collective bargaining agreement.
