We're seeking an Industrial Technical Support Specialist to support our Hoffman enclosure business by helping customers and internal teams navigate product selection, specifications, and related queries. In this role, you'll translate requirements into clear recommendations, collaborate with technical and commercial partners, and help deliver consistent, highquality support across the organization. This role is wellsuited for someone who values precision, responsiveness, and technical depth.

** This is a full time, direct-hire position with a hybrid work schedule of 4 days per week on-site in Anoka, MN. **

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Provide inbound technical and applications support via phone and email for Hoffman electrical enclosure products, supporting distributors, internal sales teams, and occasional end customers.
  • Support pre and postsale inquiries by recommending enclosure solutions based on specifications, environmental conditions, NEMA and IP ratings, application needs, and competitive comparisons.
  • Assist with part identification, replacement, and configuration questions, including more complex or custom component needs tied to system changes.
  • Ask focused questions to quickly understand applications, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate next steps, including guidance related to electrical, environmental, and thermal considerations.
  • Partner closely with Application Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Lab teams to resolve technical questions, support nonstandard requests, and address product, rating, or installationrelated issues involving ULlisted enclosure solutions.
  • Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge sharing by capturing repeat solutions, application insights, and standard approaches to improve team consistency and response time.
  • Maintain a high level of service by meeting team expectations related to accuracy, turnaround time, and customer experience.

YOU HAVE:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent handson experience supporting industrial products.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical support, applications support, or customer service within a manufacturing or industrial equipment environment.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical enclosures (Hoffman preferred) or closely related industrial product categories.
  • Solid understanding of electrical enclosure types, ratings, materials, and issues involving heat dissipation as they relate to product selection and application questions.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, datasheets, and specification documentation to support troubleshooting and recommendations.
  • Proven track record assessing customer needs, asking targeted clarifying questions, and supporting inquiries before and after sales.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with distributors, sales groups, and internal partners, and handling critical customer situations with integrity and empathy.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$62,900.00 - $116,900.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
