Estimator (Portland)

Position Description: Prepare detailed estimates for the project based on the construction drawings and specifications. Communicate bids and scopes of work.

Reports to: Lead Estimator, Senior Estimator, or Preconstruction Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities*: In the areas assigned:

• Develop
  detailed estimates from concept through GMP
• Identify
  scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Collaborate
  with design teams and key stakeholders
• Present
  estimates and assumptions to internal and external stakeholders
• Supervise Assistant Estimators and Estimating
  Interns as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of construction estimating experience, or combination of education, training, or experience
• Understanding
  of major building systems
• Design-build
  experience a plus
• Ability
  to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings,
  specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
• Knowledge
  of estimating documents and ability to provide accurate qualitative and
  quantitative analysis of documents
• Conceptual
  ability, able to work with minimum information and quickly develop
  understanding of owner/architect requirements
• Project
  management of competing demands, and meet established deadlines
• Professional
  verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient
  computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications, and familiar
  with estimating software
