Accountant Position Overview We are seeking an entry-level Accountant to join a fast-paced accounting team supporting field offices across the country. This role focuses on day-to-day transactional accounting, including accounts payable, commission processing, payroll support, and monthly period close activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with an accounting degree who is looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting. Key Responsibilities * Perform transactional accounting tasks for assigned offices * Process accounts payable, including voucher entry * Enter journal entries and support general ledger activities * Assist with commission processing and payroll support * Support monthly period close activities, including reconciliations * Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing of transactions * Partner with and support field offices with accounting-related questions and requests * Assist with 1099 processing and reporting * Participate in training of new team members and contractors * Contribute to office-specific accounting projects as needed Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required) * Basic understanding of debit and credit concepts * Experience with journal entries (academic or internship experience acceptable) * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Effective communication skills Preferred Qualifications * Exposure to accounts payable, payroll, or general accounting processes * Prior internship or entry-level accounting experience Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
