Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Patient Experience Coordinator / Mental Health Technician (MHT) supports the therapeutic milieu on the Adolescent Unit by providing structure, direction, and guidance to ensure patients are engaged in and compliant with their individualized treatment program. This role serves as a strong, visible team member who helps guide adolescent patients throughout their daily schedule, reinforces program expectations, and supports MHT staff by modeling appropriate interventions and increasing confidence in patient management and fills in as needed on the unit.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, psychology, social services, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health, inpatient, residential, or treatment setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, provide direction, and maintain structure with youth populations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coach and support peers in a fastpaced environment.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • 2 Shifts - 7am-330pm & 300pm-1130pm
  • 8hour shifts
  • Adolescent Unit

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu on the Adolescent Unit.
  • Ensure patients are following schedules, attending programming, and remaining in assigned areas.
  • Reinforce unit rules, routines, and program expectations with consistency.
  • Model effective patient engagement, observation, and boundarysetting for MHT staff.
  • Coach and support MHTs to identify concerning behaviors and respond confidently.
  • Communicate patient observations and concerns to nursing and treatment team members per policy.
