THE POSITION

Step into a role with purpose and impact! The Division of Federal Programs is searching for an Administrative Assistant 1 to join the Bureau of Assessment and Instruction to play a key part in shaping and supporting educational initiatives that matter. This professional position involves aiding in the creation of educational administration protocols pertaining to federal initiatives, encompassing planning, development, and liaison skills essential for inter-divisional and bureau collaboration. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for planning, reviewing, and providing feedback on local educational agencies (LEA) submissions within the designated consolidated applications to streamline the approval process. This position involves analyzing and assisting with responding to LEA inquiries for the Division of Federal Programs personnel and supplying necessary support. You can expect to review applications for accuracy and compliance, provide technical assistant to LEA personnel, and assist with compiling reports and verifying data. You will have the opportunity to advise LEA's on program requirements, monitor and process expenditure reports, and respond to all inquiries pertaining to federal programs regulations, applications approval and funding patterns. Our team will rely on your knowledge of principles of public administration, governmental accounting, and techniques used in administrative research.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Currently one day in-office per five day work week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: New hires to the commonwealth will start at the minimum salary rate.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
