DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee a highway maintenance crew responsible for a wide range of roadway repair and upkeep activities. You will ensure that projects are planned, supervised, and completed safely and efficiently. As a Highway Foreman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Crew Supervision: Direct and guide equipment operators and laborers during maintenance and repair tasks
- Maintenance Operations: Carry out roadway activities such as patching, drainage work, debris removal, and emergency response
- Safety Leadership: Promote safe practices, oversee work zone traffic control, and respond appropriately to incidents
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs, report unusual events, and document crew or equipment issues
- Training Oversight: Teach proper tool use, reinforce maintenance procedures, and ensure quality standards are met

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,105 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
