Human Resources Assistant - Temporary Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Assistant is a critical member of the Human Resources department at The Adirondack Trust Company. This role assists in all areas of the department, including recruitment assistance, payroll, file maintenance and other daily administrative tasks. Applicants must be willing to perform all necessary job functions and uphold employee and retiree confidentiality. This position is a temporary assignment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Must maintain a high level of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and The Adirondack Trust Company culture and policies.

Processes transactions for internal employee movie ticket orders.

Payroll processing responsibilities will include scanning payroll documents, file maintenance, and monitoring timecards.

Creates forms, documents, and correspondence on behalf of HR, which include creating and sending confirmation letters, first day agendas, mail merge projects, and required notifications.

Provides support for the recruiting process by assisting with candidate pre-screenings, scheduling interviews, maintaining applicant records, and the staffing and applicant activity logs.

Assists in the onboarding of new employees by preparing and presenting new hire orientation, reviewing onboarding documents, and preparing brand bags.

Acts as a resource for basic employee questions.

Maintains and tracks Performance Management. Assigns and ensures reviews are being completed by managers in a timely manner and escalates training plans to the Senior HR Generalist.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires experience in a business setting, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate must be results-driven, possess a sense of urgency, be very organized, and be able to maintain a high level of professionalism. Prior experience in the Human Resources field or an associate degree are preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers and co-workers, and communicate orally.

Normal daily physical activities include walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.

Must be able to read reports and use a computer.

Occasionally will lift 20-30 pounds (files, cash drawer, etc.)
