Instructional Designer- Contingent Worker

Position Summary Workcred is seeking an instructional designer to develop three professional online courses that promote engagement and enrollment. This role will translate subject-matter expertise into clear, engaging learning experiences designed for adult professional learners. The project is expected to begin in June 2026 and will culminate with the launching of completed and finalized courses by the end of September 2026. Formed in 2014 as an affiliate of ANSI, Workcred is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to strengthen workforce quality by improving the credentialing system, ensuring its ongoing relevance, and preparing employers, workers, educators, and governments to use it effectively. Essential Functions
  • Design and develop three online courses for Workcred that include course outlines, learning objectives, lesson modules, interactive learning activities, and assessments.
  • Work with subject-matter experts to translate content into engaging instructional material.
  • Develop scripts for short, on-demand videos used to introduce course topics and generate interest in the courses.
  • Ensure courses are engaging, accessible, and designed for professional audiences.
  • Revise course materials and video scripts based on stakeholder feedback.
Information Security Responsibilities
  • Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date
  • Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures
  • Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy, or known encroachments on information security, to your department leader and/or the information technology department
Other Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing online courses for professional or adult learners.
  • Experience developing scripts for short instructional or promotional video content.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject-matter experts and translate complex ideas into engaging learning experiences.
  • Background in education, workforce development, or credentialing.
  • Familiarity with digital learning engagement strategies.
  • Experience working in LearnWorlds and/or BigMarker preferred.

In addition, please provide at least two examples of courses you have developed. ** Compensation will be in the $50-$80 per hour range, depending on education, experience, and other qualifications.
