Description
Position Overview: Alliance Source Testing is a service company that provide air sampling from industrial smokestacks. The Equipment Coordinator is a vital part of the stack testing operations of each office. A self-starter who will work under the guidance of the Operations Manager and Project Management team. This position supports field work activities by ensuring that equipment is maintained to the standards of Alliance Source Testing. The Equipment Coordinator will support field personnel and will play a key role in maximizing efficiency of the field staff.
Essential Functions

  • Performs electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of sampling equipment; repairs analyzers and handhelds, including filling out the forms to send them back to the manufacturer and answering inquiries regarding the repair status of the equipment
  • Performs calibration of sampling equipment
  • Builds unique tools and/or equipment that may be needed to simplify or accomplish field and shop tasks; builds probes, calibrates flowmeters, and builds/works on other accessories to be used by technicians on site
  • Provides CEMS troubleshooting support when contacted by field personnel to help minimize downtime
  • Performs basic repair, cleaning, and organization of various test equipment as well as the warehouse/office facilities
  • Purchases/fixes tools needed to work on equipment
  • Prepares paperwork and computer tracking of all equipment being repaired/replaced; creates shipping labels to coordinate where equipment is going to/coming from
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ months of experience working with/repairing equipment preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of TVA 1000/2020 and most handhelds used for Method 21 monitoring
  • Basic understanding of Method 21 and Appendix P, along with other environmental regulations
  • Good manual dexterity; good hand-eye coordination
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate with associates and leaders


  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a repair facility setting; proper use of Personal Protective Equipment is required.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Sitting for extended periods and the dexterous use of hands and fingers is common in performing equipment repairs. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare documents or examine equipment.

Employee will constantly be required to handle and grasp, frequently lift, and occasionally crawl, reach, kneel, balance, push, pull, carry, and climb.

Minimum Requirements:

Education Must have High School Diploma. AS or BS degree preferred (Science and Engineering related fields ideal)

Experience Previous stack testing experience is preferred. Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Products and tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with sound knowledge of how things work.

Basic vehicle maintenance with ability to drive a pickup truck and pull a mobile laboratory trailer. Use of basic office equipment: scanner, copier, PC, etc.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Good written and vocal communication skills (Internally and with Clients and Regulators) with professional appearance and behavior. Maintain positive attitude with ability to multi-task and work well in groups or as part of a team. Ability to work safely in a work and office environment.

Certifications - Valid drivers license

Physical Requirements - Consistent standing or walking, bending, crouching or stooping, climbing ladders and/or stairs, occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Distinguish between shades of color.

In compliance with applicable Pay Transparency laws, Alliance Technical Group provides a range of compensation for job postings within locations that have these requirements. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The pay range for this entry-level role is $25-$27 per hour.
