Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of fabrication experience
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Capability to bend, lift, and twist as required by job functions
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in mathematical calculations related to fabrication

Responsibilities

• The primary objective of this position is to plan, set up, sequence, layout, and fit steel columns, bracing, and beams with precision and efficiency
• Read and analyze structural detail drawings
• Interpret routine welding symbols
• Fit a range of components including columns, beams, and bracing for fabrication
• Plan work efficiently to meet deadlines
• Adhere to quality control (QC) guidelines
• Produce acceptable fillet welds in three processes and full penetration welds in two processes
• Lead the fabrication crew in the absence of supervision
• Assist in QC inspections as required
• Support lower-class fitters and provide guidance as needed
• Perform machine and hand burning tasks
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete all other duties as assigned
