Your responsibilities

Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor for the Aftermarket is responsible for ensuring that the maximum number of orders are picked, boxed and shipped daily as well as replenishing racks with product. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager Aftermarket, this role is responsible for delivering and executing daily and short-term plans to achieve operational and business objectives. This position supervises a team of material handlers and ensures operational excellence by providing leadership, driving process improvements, coordinating the allocation of resources, controlling expenses, and promoting a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Shares disciplinary responsibility for all employees in the warehouse, including hiring, separation, counseling and mentoring, time and attendance as well as ensuring timely processing of performance appraisals and compensation reviews.
  • Responsible and accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of all warehouse processes and the documentation thereof, including but not limited to
    • Receiving
    • Put away
    • Picking
    • Packing
    • Shipping
    • Inventory count/Cycle count
    • Waste Management
    • Maintenance of Equipment
  • Responsible and accountable for inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible and accountable for training of employees, determining sufficient cross training levels, and maintaining documentation in a qualification / training matrix.
  • Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement activities including 6S, Six Sigma and other optimization to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the warehouse.
  • Measures KPI's on a daily, weekly, and monthly base.
  • Ensures the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal. Supervises, organizes, directs, and trains front line leaders and material handlers in the establishment and exceeding of warehouse goals.
  • Establishes performance standards & metrics in the warehouse. Works directly with front line leadership to communicate and ensure that standards and metrics are implemented, understood by the staff, measured daily and met or exceeded.
  • Trains and manages a team of front line leaders to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Plans, monitors and executes schedules and adjusts as needed to ensure proper staffing that support operational demands and business objectives.
  • Manages inbound and outbound loading and unloading of trucks while maintaining warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
  • Provides training and coaching for employees in work-related activities, personal growth, performance and career development. Develops team capabilities to meet organizational needs in the short and long-term horizons.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Exercises independent judgement and discretion in connection with exercising job duties.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a supervisor/manager leading people and managing processes in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Must have knowledge of and proven experience overseeing daily warehouse operations, establishing, measuring, tracking and coaching warehouse workers to daily metrics.
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices, previous experience with Ecommerce fulfillment and prep required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commonly used warehouse and inventory control processes.
  • Demonstrated effective communication with warehouse team members and other departments across the organization.
  • Fluent in the English language (both, oral/written).
  • Forklift Trainer experience / certification.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient computer skills: typing, word processing, printing, etc.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize necessary software tools and programs such as SAP. Working knowledge of SAP and the basic functions in the WM module preferred.
  • Strong people skills to inspire, lead and motivate the warehouse team.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to drive continuous improvement by analyzing data.
  • Ability to flex between a supervisory and hands on working role as business needs demand.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
  • Demonstrated successful employment track record, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be accountable for the success of the team and willing and able to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education:

  • High school diploma required.
