POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall financial and operational management of assigned properties including tenant relations, inspections, construction, and contract administration. Manage assigned assets and the successful operation of office and retail assets.



WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Oversee property operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong tenant relations.
  • Conduct property inspections.
  • Prepare annual budget, periodic reforecasts, and financial reports.
  • Supervise and mentor members of the team.
  • Bid and oversee service contracts.
  • Oversee rent collection and report on accounts receivable.
  • Oversee service contracts and periodic rebids.
  • Bid and oversee capital and tenant improvement construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate lease, property, and vendor files.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor, tenants, and team.
  • Manage jurisdictional requirements & regulations on behalf of Owner
  • Oversee site development and construction activities


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong management and supervisory experience.
  • Patience as a communicator, coach, and teacher.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to promote and champion our corporate culture, foster teamwork, and encourage professional growth.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgment and discretion.
  • Solid knowledge of building mechanical systems and construction management.
  • Ability to review and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Ability to read construction plans and drawings
  • Strong analytical and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including strong knowledge of Excel and Word and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use various real estate and construction software packages.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and 5+ years' progressive experience in commercial and retail real estate management preferred.
  • Certified Property Manager or Real Property Administrator designation or candidacy preferred.
  • Development/Construction experience preferred

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 annually. In addition to base salary, a discretionary bonus will be offered. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. JBG SMITH considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, candidate's work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
