The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an HVAC Technician to support commercial and industrial maintenance in Ontario, California.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Environment includes residential, commercial, and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, climate-controlled automation systems, energy management control systems and program control systems.
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of mechanical and electrical components including compressors, motors, heaters, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, evaporators, condensing units, switches, thermostats etc.
  • Responsible for identification of materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety HVAC related maintenance activities, repairs, installations, and projects.
  • Responsible for repairs, modifications, operations and maintenance of existing systems, including overhaul and design of systems and calibration small to large units.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, install, test, repair, modify, relocate, maintain, and calibrate refrigeration equipment, air conditioning equipment, pneumatics controls and auxiliary equipment such as exhaust fans, supply fans and smoke purge fans etc.
  • Technical expertise required for interpreting diagrams, drawings, technical manuals, and other instructions for air conditioning equipment, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and use of trade formulas and relevant calculations to inform design/modification decisions and execute as planned.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret sequences of operations and how they relate to AHU operations and make changes as required.
  • Work productively with minimal supervision
  • Off duty emergency response is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High school diploma

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Twelve plus (12+) years experience hands-on HVAC service and maintenance.
  • Experience with commercial and industrial controls and components.
  • Experience working on HVAC equipment that utilizes VAV boxes, pneumatic and DDC controls.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting and analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies during off-duty hours.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Fifteen to twenty (15 - 20) years of hands-on industrial and commercial HVAC experience.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
