Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Position Management Product Owner to define and govern the firm's endtoend position data standards, sourcing rules, intraday vs. endofday (EOD) treatment policies, and data quality outcomes across the platform lifecycle.

This role sits at the intersection of Investment Operations, data governance, and technology, serving as the authoritative business owner for position data across the firm's IBOR, ABOR, and risk platforms. The role is critical to ensuring accurate position recordkeeping, lifecycle integrity, and alignment between transactional activity, accounting outputs, and downstream consumers such as P&L, performance, risk, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain firmwide position data definitions, sourcing rules, and intraday vs. EOD treatment policies across asset classes, strategies, and legal entities.

  • Establish and govern the position data sourceoftruth hierarchy, ensuring consistency and traceability across front, middle, and backoffice platforms.

  • Serve as the business owner for position management technology platforms, translating accounting and operational requirements into prioritized roadmaps and functional specifications.

  • Partner with Data, Technology, Portfolio Management, Risk, and Operations teams to define and enforce data quality standards, exception thresholds, and remediation workflows.

  • Drive position data alignment across legacy and targetstate platforms, ensuring lifecycle event logic and sourcing rules are documented, tested, and validated during migration.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for position data disputes, sourcing conflicts, and lifecycle interpretation questions.

  • Define and maintain positionlevel valuation inputs and P&L attribution rules, ensuring consistency between cost basis methodologies, realized/unrealized P&L, and downstream reporting.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in position management, investment data operations, fund accounting, or a related role at a global asset management, asset servicing, or prime brokerage firm.

  • Deep knowledge of position lifecycle management, including intraday updates, EOD reconciliation, multicustodian sourcing, and complex lifecycle events across multiasset strategies.

  • Strong understanding of IBOR and ABOR frameworks, trade lifecycle events (settlement, corporate actions, FX), and their impact on positions, P&L, performance, and risk.

  • Proven experience as a business owner or subjectmatter expert for position management or investment book of record platforms.

  • Experience supporting or leading platform migrations, with demonstrated ability to define standards and resolve sourcing inconsistencies.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data and accounting concepts to senior stakeholders.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors.
