Position Overview

The Vice President of Community Building and Programming supports OCHIN's reputation as a trusted innovation and solutions partner by strengthening OCHIN's ability to share knowledge, connect member communities, and support collaborative learning across our member network. This role advances OCHIN's business goals and priorities by activating member engagement, peer learning and community building through OCHIN's ecosystem of communities, forums and channels.

This role partners OCHIN's Chief Strategy and Communications Officer and leaders from across the department and organization to lead and develop cohesive programming, community building and experience strategies that heighten the relevancy, substance and impact of member executive committee meetings, member operational and clinical workgroups, and OCHIN's Learning Forum event. Adept at turning business goals into relevant and consultative conversations and using data-driven insights to deepen community connection, this relational leader is proficient at working cross-functionally to drive impact and leads a high-performance team responsible for member-focused informational campaigns, moderated community channels and the management of OCHIN's online member portal.

Essential Duties:

Strategic and Programmatic Leadership

  • Direct and continuously refine an enterprise-wide member engagement and community-building strategy that advances OCHIN's mission, business objectives, and member satisfaction goals.
  • In partnership with key cross-functional OCHIN leaders, establish a quarterly editorial roadmap for peer learning, knowledge exchange and user engagement designed to scale across the network and drive greater synergy across key member audiences, segments and communities.
  • Establish clear success metrics and regularly analyze engagement, adoption, and sentiment data to optimize community relevance, effectiveness, and business impact.

Community Design, Programming & Knowledge Exchange

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to design, direct and facilitate programming-meetings, forums, campaigns, and events-that foster peer learning, shared problem-solving, best-practice dissemination and deeper community ties.
  • Create and steward high-value member conversations that translate OCHIN's solutions, roadmap, and capabilities into clear, role-relevant outcomes for executive, clinical, and operational audiences.
  • Equip internal, member-facing teams with practical frameworks and tools that reflect OCHIN's strategic priorities and elevate communications from informational to consultative and value-driven.
  • Serve as a co-executive leader for OCHIN's Learning Forum, with direct responsibility for shaping the content strategy, experience design, and member outcomes of the program and annual event.

Inbound Member Marketing & Enablement

  • Oversee and actively curate the evolution of OCHIN's online member portal and other member engagement platforms to ensure content, discussions, and resources remain timely, relevant, and aligned with community goals.
  • Direct inbound member engagement and marketing initiatives that respond to unmet member needs, support strategic priorities, and accelerate solution adoption.
  • Establish metrics and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of member communities and channels and their influence on member satisfaction, retention and trust.
  • Ensure alignment across community, marketing, and communications efforts to deliver a coherent, end-to-end member experience across touchpoints.

Team Leadership & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a high-performing team responsible for member engagement, inbound marketing, and member portal management, modeling curiosity, accountability, and member-centric thinking.
  • Foster deep collaboration with strategy, account management, communications, governance, operations, clinical informatics, and member success teams to align engagement efforts with enterprise priorities.
  • Ensure consistent integration across departments so members experience OCHIN as a coordinated, trusted partner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's in business or clinical administration, healthcare operations management and/or communications and marketing is required. Masters preferred
  • Minimum of 15+ years in member experience, executive-level consulting, change management, communications, program management and community building, or related leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience remote supervisory/management experience is required.
  • Proven success designing and delivering executive-level engagements or strategic member programs to deepen comprehension and connection
  • Strong facilitation skills and executive presence
  • Understanding and incorporation of AI Technology
  • Strong relational leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Intermediate to Advance PowerPoint, Excel experience required
  • Experience with enterprise applications (e.g., Salesforce CRM, CLM, Docusign) and technology-driven process improvement.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations, and teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.
  • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely and will require that employees be on camera for all virtual meetings.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
  • Travel is required to support OCHIN's business requirements for go-live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

  • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace
  • Travel required up to 20% nationally for business requirements for OCHIN

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
