Willdan Lighting and Electric (WLE), a subsidiary of Willdan, is hiring an Account Manager in our New York, NY office to support Multifamily Utility Incentive programs that promote the installation of energy efficiency, weatherization, and electrification measures. The candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with Participating Contractors (PCs) who install eligible measures in multifamily buildings and receive incentives through the programs. The candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for multiple contractors and installers to navigate program requirements, discuss their sales pipeline, and communicate areas for improvement. The candidate will work in a collaborative environment with internal program, data, and operations teams and serve as their main liaison to Participating Contractors. This is a hybrid position local to New York, NY and will require some local travel, with an overall expectation of 2-3 days on-site per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for an assigned group of Participating Contractors, maintaining professional and positive working relationships with all PC staff.
- Provide direct support to PCs on program requirements, user experience, overall performance and installation quality, technical questions, Willdan's project management system, and more.
- Organize and lead frequent meetings with high-volume PCs both virtually and in-person to ensure efficient project processing, review incentive budgets and spending, and communicate questions or concerns from staff.
- Develop an understanding of each PC's sales pipeline and installation process to inform internal forecasts and ease obstacles to completing projects.
- Prepare reports and projections for incoming sales across all programs based on PC capacity. Provide accurate sales, installation, and curing timelines for forecasting purposes on a monthly and quarterly basis for each assigned PC.
- Coordinate effectively across internal teams to translate questions and concerns to and from PCs, including managing a shared database of notes and records for each PC.
- Facilitate training opportunities for PCs in line with program requirements and updates, such as webinars, technical workshops, and on-site demos.
- Organize meetings to engage and build relationships with PCs, including site visits, in-person events and an annual recognition breakfast.
- Understand and communicate programmatic changes, system updates, etc. to PCs, developing correspondence to discuss them and ensure PC staff awareness at all levels.
- Share outcomes and takeaways from PC engagement with Willdan and client management staff. Prepare reports and presentations to demonstrate findings and plans to address areas of concern.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- 4-5 years of account management experience, including direct experience working with contractors and installers in the energy efficiency, weatherization, electrification, and/or multifamily construction industries.
- Understanding of and experience with energy efficiency, facility design/build, incentive programs and/or performance contracting.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex program requirements to program participants and clients in a concise, clear manner.
- Functional collaborator with experience working cross-functionally between internal teams, client staff, and Participating Contractors.
- Responsive, detailed, timely, and professional in all forms of communication.
- Proactive, customer service-oriented attitude.
- Sound reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
- CRM experience preferred.
- Required to work from a Manhattan office 2-3 days per week, with some local travel expected for site visits, events, etc.
