Role overview

Play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for older adults during overnight and weekend hours. As the Weekend Night Monitor at Robineau Residence, you'll help ensure resident well-being, respond to resident needs, support daily building operations, and provide compassionate service that helps residents feel secure, respected, and connected. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, attentive, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors.

This is an on-site role.

What You'll Do

Essential responsibilities



  • Performs wellness check on residents.
  • Serves meals.
  • Sweeps the dining room floor after meals.
  • Empties the garbage from each residential suite.
  • Responds to the resident emergency pendant alarms.
  • Monitors the door entry system.
  • Admits and greets authorized guests, maintaining COVID-19 protocols, as necessary.
  • Enters activities into the daily logbook.
  • Creates orders and reviews them with the manager.
  • Files documents.
  • Organizes files for inspections.
  • Copies and prints documents and correspondence.
  • Answers the phones and responds to resident requests and concerns.
  • Provides basic information about the building and takes messages.
  • Plans and implements appropriate activities as assigned.
  • Assists with resident activities, such as meal orders, menu feedback, and setting up of meal services.
  • Maintains professional bearing in all situations.
  • Assists in the coordination of volunteer programs (including scheduling, communications, and attendance).
  • Assists in the coordination of the annual event that recognizes volunteers.
  • May accompany residents during off-site outings.
  • When assigned, prepares monthly calendar of events.
  • Assists in the design of flyers.
  • Meets with new residents to provide orientation relating to the building.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment and orders when necessary.
  • Attends meetings and in-services as necessary.
  • Maintains activity hours monthly.
  • Other tasks as assigned.


Compensation

$15.51 per hour.

Schedule

5:30 pm on Saturday to 6:30 am on Sunday.

Union status

Membership in Service Employees International Union Local 73 may be a condition of employment.

Who You Are

Education



  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.


Experience



  • 2 years of experience in working with the elderly or a special population in a residential setting is preferred.


Other



  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and customer service skills are needed in this position.
  • Basic computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
