Responsible for rendering technical patient care and assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Peds ED sees about 50-60 patients daily. We work in collaboration with the Adult ED for trauma admits less than 16 years old. Part of the #1 Children's Hospital in Virginia. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience: No experience required Licensure: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required. For Non-Certified team members hired prior to May 11, 2026, certification is not required, as relevant experience will be accepted in its place. Must have one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia Emergency Medical Technician in the Commonwealth of Virginia Military Corpsmen/Medic (Combat Medic Specialist /Tactical Combat Casualty Care /Tactical Paramedic) NREMT certification or Tactical Responder Certification LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia Graduate of a certified nursing program Patient Care Technician Certification, preferred National Center of Competency Testing Currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Clinical Experience and Didactic PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: EMT-B in the Commonwealth of Virginia PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $16.37 hourly.
