The primary responsibility of the Director Materials Manager is to provide materials management oversite and support to divisional manufacturing facilities. The individual will represent the interests of manufacturing facilities while working with Product Management and Logistics in the supply phase of the SIOP process to ensure the best use of Southwire's manufacturing assets, production plan attainment and on-time delivery. This individual will have a particular focus on intercompany support of bare wire and other WIP components. This Director will manage a small direct staff and have dotted line for Materials managers for the plants they support with regards to planning methodology. The Director will work to ensure the optimal use of Southwire manufacturing assets. The individual will help drive Date Driven initiatives and adoption of improved production planning tools. They will manage key improvement projects and work on tasks assigned by Operations VPs and Sr. VPs. This is a key role in executing our production plans. Key Responsibilities
* Leads materials management support functions to Industrial/OEM plants to achieve plant OTIF, WIP reduction, and other metrics.
* Execute on strategy and development of intercompany WIP flow, with a specific focus on Cu/Al strand. Improved Length planning and coordination.
* Conduct OTIF pareto analysis and translate data to implement and drive action plans to improve customer service.
* Point of contact for priority and project order scheduling for Industrial and OEM.
* Define and implement standard work instructions and provides training plans for all MTO Materials Management roles.
* Utilize tools like IBP to visualize and manage loadings by machine/work center/Plan items Capacity groups and use data to drive LTs.
