Supervises and coordinates clinical staff and peers in the implementation of high quality/quantity social work services within region/program. Ensures adherence to State/Federal regulations and VNS Health goals, standards and objectives.

- Implements and monitors quality assurance programs for patient service operations. Provides case management supervision to staff utilizing clinical expertise.
- Monitors and reviews written case documentation and reports by staff. Ensures accuracy in documentation and on error returns for correction.
- Ensures that social work service is provided by qualified staff in accordance with the plan of care. The plan of care includes assessment of members psychosocial status, understanding of social / emotional factors related to health problems, short-term individual counseling, utilization of community resource planning, crisis intervention, family involvement for treatment plan, and the communication of overall care.
- Directs, supervises, coordinates and where needed, directly delivers high quality behavioral health services within Region/Program. Ensures compliance of State / Federal regulations and Agency policies.
- Analyzes case management problems on hard to service cases by usage of department reports / case conferences. Ensures that problem resolution is done by effective management strategies / plan of action / follow-up.
- Develops short and long-range goals and objectives with assigned staff. Interprets, implements and promotes Agency policies to staff and members of the community.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and when necessary terminates under supervision in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Participates in Region/Program for orientation of new staff. Imparts an overview of the department's role and its functions within program / Agency.
- *Represents program on record review and quality assurance review committees on medicaid cases, and other Agency activities.
- Maintains close communication with other disciplines involved in members care.
- Conducts home visits, to assist clinical staff on case management activities of complex cases and also visits patients in region/program to assess the quality / outcomes of social work services provided.
- Initiates / participates in case conferences of difficult to service patients. Assists staff with problems in case management activities.
- Performs all inherent duties in a supervisory role. Ensures effective staff training, interviews candidates for employment, evaluates staff performance and recommends hirings, promotions, salary actions, and terminations, as appropriate.
- *Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications: Current registration to practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State. required For Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBH): Advanced or Master Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). required
Education: Master's Degree Social Work after successfully completing a prescribed course of study at a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and the Education Dept required
Work Experience: Minimum two years' experience in an OASAS-certified substance use treatment setting required and Minimum one year experience supervising substance use counselors required Experience providing substance use treatment to adolescents is desired preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Pay Range
USD $77,200.00 - USD $96,500.00 /Yr.
