Job Summary: The Supervisor-RICA Strategic Communications and Engagement is responsible for strategic leadership for digital communications, multimedia production, outreach, and community engagement initiatives supporting Loma Linda University Children's Hospital RICA clinical programs, school-based services, and educational advocacy programming. This role serves as both a communications leader and active patient advocacy team member, supporting direct patient and family engagement, care coordination outreach, youth advocacy, and whole-person care initiatives for vulnerable youth and families. Collaborates with patients, families, healthcare providers, behavioral health staff, schools, and community partners to develop trauma-informed, culturally responsive communication and outreach strategies that improve healthcare access, behavioral health awareness, educational engagement, continuity of care, and connection to community resources. This position supports direct outreach and patient engagement efforts, assists in addressing social determinants of health (SDOH), and participates in school- and community-based programming to support high-risk youth and families. Oversees social media, video production, digital storytelling, outreach campaigns, educational media, and public engagement initiatives while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, Medi-Cal standards, and organizational confidentiality policies, and develops multimedia resources that support patient education, staff training, advocacy initiatives, and organizational events. This position will require travel and field-based work within schools, clinics, community settings, conferences, and partner locations throughout San Bernardino and the Inland Empire region. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Media Production, Film, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field required. Minimum five years of professional experience in media production, digital communications, brand management, outreach initiatives, organizational communications, or healthcare/community engagement activities. Experience working with vulnerable youth, healthcare organizations, educational systems, non-profit organization, ECM programs, or community-based services preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Advanced Knowledge of digital communications, media production, story-telling strategies, and brand management. Understanding of trauma informed communication approaches and outreach strategies supporting vulnerable youth and families, as well as social determinants of health and barriers impacting healthcare access, educational engagement, and community participation. Familiarity with Enhanced Care Management, patient advocacy models, and whole-person care approaches. Familiarity with Medi-Cal, IEHP, HIPPA, FERPA, mandated reporting, and confidentiality requirements. Knowledge of school-based programming, youth development principles, and community partnership coordination. Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
