The Verizon Cellular Connectivity Practice PMO team is seeking a Project Manager to join our dedicated Program Management organization. The primary purpose of the Program Manager is to drive the delivery of complex customer solutions under the guidance of the Associate Director. This includes project planning, execution, implementation, scoping/estimating of the programs. The Program Manager will help lead the organization in managing and implementing customers at all levels and drive significant business value through the successful delivery of initiatives.

  • Supporting the Associate Director of the PMO on project plan creation, schedule creation and management and project reporting as well as regular status reporting on the progress of initiatives.

  • Effectively liaising between multiple departments and all functions of the business to plan, prioritize, and manage workload and timelines.

  • Escalating risks, issues, changes and decisions to management and business counterparts throughout project life cycles.

  • Working closely with the implementation team(s) and support teams to ensure system applications are being implemented to support business processes.

  • Forging cross-functional partnerships to get the work done.

  • Creating detailed project plans and communicating business updates.

  • Identifying global resource requirements and pulling in the right people.

  • Developing, reviewing, and continuously improving processes.

  • Monitoring project progress, anticipating and reducing risk.

  • Supporting department leaders with scoping and priority of issues / opportunities and work with program managers on scheduling.

  • Working closely with the Program Managers to ensure scope of programs is controlled and stays within the objectives of the business case / charter.

  • Coordinating iterative testing throughout all phases of a program and ensuring responsible test teams provide clearly documented test cases and results for internal and external review, investigation and successful implementation of corrective fixes.

  • Partnering with Product and Business on priorities to ensure cross functional issues are addressed unilaterally.

  • Development and adherence to standard tools and dashboarding

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience managing large complex projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of Portfolio Lifecycle Management processes and best practices. Three or more years of advanced and proven financial management and modeling.

  • Knowledge of PMO processes and best practices.

  • Knowledge of portfolio management processes and best practices and PMO tools and practices.

  • Knowledge of 4G and 5G Networks

  • Knowledge of Wireless Consumer IT delivery and business delivery.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master's degree. Ideally, in project management.

  • Experience in leading large OEM Automotive Projects.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate, Scrum Master, Certificate or Black Belt.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to assimilate a broad range of data, analyzing, and distinctly packaging the information to a variety of audiences, including executive management.

  • Ability to understand the corporate business strategies and apply to the business.

  • Strategic thinking and vision.

  • Relationship-building skills that result in a strong network.

  • Ability to advance ideas through different levels in the organization.

  • Ability to work effectively across operating units effectively influencing others.

  • Strong change management/organizational adoption understanding and focus.

  • Experience managing projects with PMI or MSP methodologies.

  • Motivated and influenced teams to deliver outcomes and results.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $98,500.00 - $188,000.00. The annual salary range for the Illinois location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $108,000.00 - $188,000.00.
