The Human Resources Generalist supports and partners with employees and leaders across operations and filed locations. This role plays a key part in driving employees' engagement, compliance, and workforce development in a large, diverse, and safety-focused organization. Performs Human Resources related duties at a professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: recruiting, employee relations, employment and training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning employment, safety and workplace standards.
  • Sources candidates, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation for large groups, ensuring employees understand safety, company policies, and expectations.
  • Deliver training programs and presentations to employees and managers, often in group settings across multiple locations.
  • Performs benefit administration to include change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Conducts bilingual benefits orientation sessions.
  • Supports a diverse, bilingual workforce, ensuring clear communication in both English and Spanish.
  • HR metrics using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to support workforce planning and decision making.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
  • Conducts exit interviews, and makes recommendations for retention, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Represents the company for unemployment claims and hearings.
  • Other duties may be assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience
  • Experience facilitating training and speaking to large groups
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations
