Job Summary
In this role, you will apply specialized technical expertise to develop design solutions, adapt procedures and methodologies to meet project needs, and independently analyze and resolve a variety of design challenges. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment in interpreting policies, regulations, standards, and guidelines, while evaluating multiple options to determine the most effective course of action.

What You'll do:

* Develop and prepare electrical engineering drawings and construction documents for medium to large Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects.
* Produce and lead in the revision of electrical design drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, including Bentley MicroStation or equivalent 2D/3D CAD applications.
* Create and maintain electrical design deliverables, including wiring diagrams, control schematics, cable and conduit schedules, panel schedules, and related engineering drawings.
* Participate in field investigations and site assessments to collect data, verify existing conditions, and support project design development.
* Assist with engineering studies and analyses by preparing preliminary and final design drawings and incorporating project requirements into design solutions.

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday, every other Friday Off.

Hybrid: Metropolitan's current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school diploma or a Certificate of High School equivalency and four years of increasingly responsible, relevant experience; or three years of relevant experience and twelve quarter units or eight semester units from an accredited college, university, or vocational school.

Relevant experience is defined as: Experience with the preparation and coordination of Electrical Design drawings consisting of Wiring Diagrams, Control Schematics, Cable and Conduit Schedules, Panel Schedules. Utilizing Bentley Microstation Connect and/or experience with the use of computer-aided design (3d modeling CAD) methods and practices.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:

Licenses: Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
