Overview

Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, teamwork-oriented environment? Egan Company is looking for a Payroll Coordinator based in Champlin, MN. This role is an integral part of a fast-paced payroll team, providing essential support for day-to-day payroll operations. Responsibilities include accurate new hire data entry, management of certified payroll, and a variety of administrative duties such as employment verifications, wage theft documentation, and unemployment account maintenance to support compliant and efficient processes across the organization. This is a flexible hybrid position, offering a combination of in-office and remote work.


Responsibilities

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting payroll operations and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Process and maintain new hire information within payroll and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of employee records.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with prevailing wage and contractual requirements.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims, coordinating with management and third-party administrators as needed.
  • Complete and submit required state and federal new hire reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain wage theft prevention notices and related compliance documentation.
  • Review and verify employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Process employment and income verification requests in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Monitor and manage payroll-related group email inboxes, responding to employee inquiries and directing requests as appropriate.
  • Prepare 26-week wage statements and other payroll documentation required for workers' compensation claims.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reporting, reconciliations, and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, managers, and external stakeholders regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year college degree in Accounting is preferred
  • 1+ years administrative and/or payroll experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Excel


Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a paperless environment
  • Proficiency in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite, Word, and Excel
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction, as well as being comfortable in a team environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize/organize daily workload
  • Exposure to process improvement ideas in an accounting setting is highly desired
  • Willingness to grow and learn in this position is a must!

Pay Range: $28.84-$31.25 per hour (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
