Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Hospitality Services.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing linen operations while ensuring adherence to performance standards and regulatory compliance across hospitality services. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high-quality patient and staff environments by leading compliance audits, driving operational excellence, and collaborating with leadership to enhance overall service delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates activities of the department and matches skills of staff with appropriate duties required. Oversees the orientation process of new employees, training of staff, and monitors safe and proper use of equipment. Assists the Director in communicating and training staff on all policy and procedures for regulatory compliance, inclusive of Joint Commission, State Department of Health, HIPPA, OSHA and regulated medical waste. Conducts monthly staff meetings including minutes and attendance sheets. Ensures staff participation in annual requirements.
  • Manages department in a fiscally responsible manner. Ensures adequate staffing levels on each shift while reducing unnecessary overtime. Monitors and evaluates the use of supplies, materials and other resources to reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Prepares department budgets and related reports in a comprehensive and timely manner according to established financial guidelines. Regularly evaluates facility and recommends improvements. Coordinates Hospitality work projects and communicates with other departments in facility as necessary. Assist Director in selection and maintenance of all capital cleaning equipment.
  • Works closely with Infection Control to maintain a respective environment for staff, visitors and patients. Monitors and promotes security and safety principles as per WUH policies and procedures for a safe environment for staff, visitors and patients.
  • Coordinates training of staff inclusive of supervisors to promote consistency and quality of hospitality service delivery. Provides progress reports to the supervisors relative to short-term and long term goals and reviews department accomplishments. Assist supervisors and selected staff with affiliations to promote professional expertise in hospitality and environmental services.
  • Utilizes bed tracking program for efficient patient flow. Implement and utilize communication systems for promoting effective Hospitality Services response inclusive of beepers, phones, computers and email. Monitors and supports program designed for team cleaning practices to improve patient room cleaning and service while monitoring patient flow throughout the institution.
  • Responds to Environment of Care (EOC) issues as directed by Director of Hospitality Services. Facilitates and monitors all projects and cleaning functions to ensure that they are performed timely and to quality standards. Evaluates and measures cleaning standards to meet hospitality services performance through daily quality checks. Shares and utilizes data from customer satisfaction along with Press Ganey reports to educate staff to higher services standards. Promotes Winthrop Hospitality and service culture programs, i.e., Winthrop Touch .
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee daily linen operations, including inventory control, distribution, and par level management.
Ensure efficient workflows and proper utilization of linen resources to support hospital operations.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level agreements are consistently met.
Implement process improvements to enhance linen quality, availability, and cost efficiency.
Conduct routine compliance audits to ensure all housekeeping and linen services meet hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Lead executive rounds, documenting observations and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Implement and oversee Quality Department rounds on a consistent and structured cadence.
Track, trend, and analyze compliance data to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Create and present detailed compliance and quality reports to leadership, highlighting key findings, risks, and action plans.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree.
3 - 5 years Hospitality experience in a Health care environment. 1 - 2 years Supervisory experience in related field.
Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organizational skills.
Ability to read, write and speak English.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $80,349.03 - $116,682.60 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
