Position Summary

The Manager of Corporate Safety and Facility Compliance is responsible for operational leadership and operational supervision of assigned services within the Facilities Management and Operations Support Services (FM&OSS), including Environmental Safety, Employee Harm and Workplace Violence.

The Manager works with the Director to develop and implement the strategic direction for the assigned programs; assures compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards; maintains a framework to reduce vulnerability to hazards and improve organizational resilience; provides subject matter expertise and leadership.

The manager leads an integrated approach to program development seeking best-in-class operations, customer-focused services and works with the CBU to build programs and relationships, monitor performance, improve processes, and solve problems.

The Manager ensures all assigned services meet or exceed all applicable regulatory and Joint Commission requirements.

Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive and effective Environmental Safety, Workplace Violence and Employee Harm programs at MultiCare Health System to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors.
  • Implement organizational strategies; key metrics, customer service excellence standards, and service level agreements
  • Leads and monitors strategic initiatives to ensure highly reliable programs are operational, continually improving, are cost-effective, competitive and relevant to their market(s)
  • Develops and implements policies, standard operating procedures and protocols in accordance with national, state, local, and Joint Commission regulations
  • Monitors and reports program performance and performance improvement activities and ensure continual survey and regulatory readiness/compliance
  • Provides leadership to embedded and system level staff in highly matrixed teams across MultiCare

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility/Corporate Safety, hospital/healthcare administration, business administration or relevant field.
  • Five (5) years of experience with administration of DOH, OSHA, NFPA, DOE and The Joint Commission standards and/or codes with particular familiarity with Physical Environment standards.
  • Three (3) years of experience in managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Three (3) years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Completion of OSHA - 30 (General Industry) and HazWopper - 40
  • Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $116,272.00 - $167,336.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
