The postdoctoral fellow will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians. Responsibilities include participating in all aspects of data acquisition and management; developing, modifying, and executing analytical protocols; preparing publications and scientific presentations; disseminating results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and at major national and international meetings, and mentoring junior staff. Opportunities exist for excellent scientific interactions and collaborations with an extensive program of seminars, symposia, and other meetings focused on a large array of topics in clinical research and related technology. NO Licenses and Credentials Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities $70,000.00 - $71,750.00/Annual POSITION SUMMARY: Proposes and undertakes a mentored, innovative project or challenge to develop novel molecular therapies for retinal degenerative diseases. Designs and performs in vitro and animal experiments, analyzes and presents the outcome. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Read, analyze and summarize published literature Design and execute in vitro and in vivo Undertake relevant coursework if required by mentor. Attend relevant meetings Meet regularly with mentor to review project progress and milestones Plan and deliver a seminar on the project Take administrative (inventory, purchasing, etc. ) responsibilities in the lab when necessary Write a final report or submit a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal describing the project and results EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Doctoral degree (MD or PhD) Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
