Hill International is seeking a Senior Utility Relocation Engineer in Los Angeles, California
- Manage utility company compliance with negotiated time, specification, and performance schedules.
- Maintain the utility tracking matrix across all active relocations.
- Manage the utility conflict matrix through preliminary engineering, final design, and construction.
- Review utility work plans for both investigation- and construction-related work.
- Review utility agreements and franchise agreements; help prepare and execute new agreements.
- Coordinate with client contacts to obtain necessary information, plans, data, specifications, and other items critical to the proper flow of information for the projects.
- Review agreements, plans, specifications, and billings submitted by utility companies.
- Coordinate project planning, design, and procurement processes.
- Oversee and assist in the preparation of project plans, construction bid documents, and specifications.
- Review utility construction plans and coordinate to meet client schedules.
- Prepare requests for proposal, project approvals, and other related documents for review.
- Review project documentation from consultants for compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, guidelines, and policies.
- Maintain maintenance management documentation on equipment, drawings, and reference manuals.
- Attend and participate in professional meetings; maintain awareness of trends and developments in utility relocation fields and incorporate new developments as appropriate.
- Receive and respond to inquiries, concerns, complaints, and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in complex utility coordination with major utilities in Los Angeles - wet and dry utilities; SCE, oil and gas pipelines, water, LA County Flood Control District Storm Drain, and other major utility companies.
- Design Experience with both wet and dry utilities are plus.
- Experience in transit, utility, and/or roadway construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction regulations and codes applicable to structural facilities/utilities design and construction.
The salary range for this position is $180,000-$220,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
