Any other tools/equipment must be provided by the vendor including ergonomic toolsPPE: will be provided by the vendorJourney-Level Engineer Job DescriptionPG&E Transmission EngineeringPosition Summary:This position is represented by the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and is subject to collective bargaining. The role is for a journey-level engineer who has mastered Associate engineer skills and duties, and is responsible for leading the engineering and design of more complex projects. The journey engineer exercises independent judgment in applying engineering principles and works with minimal supervision. Collaboration with engineers, project managers, construction personnel, and other business partners to assess project needs is essential. Additional responsibilities include developing technical studies and reports, providing guidance to contractors and outside vendors, and traveling to/from project-related functions approximately 20% of the time.This hybrid position requires working from a remote office and an assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory, based on business needs.Job Responsibilities:Resolve problems of moderate scope using standard solutionsIndependently plan work under general direction; progress reviewed periodically for technical accuracyPerform functions of Associate level Engineer as neededProvide technical expertise, conduct engineering analyses, studies, and develop conceptual designsPresent findings to internal teams, contractors, and vendorsConduct walkdowns and design review meetingsPrepare technical documents including design criteria, scope documents, specifications, and reportsDevelop, evaluate, and recommend alternative project proposalsSolicit, prepare, and evaluate contracts/proposals from engineering consultantsReview consultant contracts for technical complianceInterpret and apply applicable codes and regulationsParticipate in developing restoration plans and assist in root cause analysisApprove reports, new drawings, and revisions to existing drawingsRespond promptly to facility failures in emergenciesRepresent PG&E to government bodies for assigned projectsQualifications:Minimum:Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent from outside the US3 years of cumulative experience in engineering and designDesired:Electrical transmission line engineering for 115kv-500kvStrong familiarity with GO 95, NESC, and PG&E transmission line standards and construction practicesStrong familiarity with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.Skills in project management Enable Skills-Based Hiring No Mail Code N/AHave you pre-identified a specific candidate?
