Burn and Trauma Registrar

Regions Hospital has an opportunity for a per diem Burn and Trauma Registrar join our team!

This position is responsible for performing functions associated with maintaining and utilizing Regions Hospital burn, adult, and pediatric trauma registries. These responsibilities include:

• Validating and ensuring data completeness and accuracy

• Ordering, collecting, reviewing, and maintaining medical records needed for chart abstraction

• Assist in submission of burn data to Burn Care Quality Platform (BCQP) registry system.

• Troubleshooting software/hardware issues related to the Burn registry

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Completion of an approved two year or four-year Health Information Management or Nursing Program and eligibility for registration through the American Health Information Management Association. 2-3 years of experience with coding and/or abstraction will substitute for the two or four-year Health Information Management Program or Nursing Program

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Within the first 6 months of employment, it is required that the employee take the Trauma Registrar Course, ICD-10 Course Certificate dated within the past 5 years as well as the AAAM Injury Severity Scoring Course if not already completed.
