Jr. Buyer

Sealed Air is seeking a Jr. Buyer in our Ayer, MA manufacturing facility. This position manages day-to-day purchasing activities while contributing to demand planning, inventory management, and supplier performance initiatives. The Junior Buyer partners closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to maintain material availability, minimize supply chain disruptions, and support continuous business growth.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with experience in purchasing, procurement, materials planning, or supply chain operations who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities
* Purchase materials, equipment, and components from approved suppliers.
* Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
* Build and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
* Plan material requirements and manage inventory levels using an ERP system.
* Assist with identifying potential supply chain risks.
* Partner with planning and cross-functional teams to support operational requirements.
* Monitor open purchase orders, expedite shipments when necessary, and maintain accurate procurement records.
* Provide supplier performance feedback to extended team and management
* Support continuous and process improvement initiatives.
* Resolve purchase order discrepancies, receiving issues, and invoice reconciliation.
* Coordinate supplier returns, non-conformance reports, and return material authorizations (RMAs).
* Additional duties as required.

* Associate or bachelor's degree required (will consider experience in lieu of degree).
* 1 - 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or a related field.
* Experience in industrial equipment, metal fabrication, machining, or machine assembly manufacturing environments a plus.
* Knowledge of inventory and material requirements planning.
* Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Visual, or similar systems.
* Understanding of manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering change processes a plus.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams is preferred.

Working Conditions
* Primarily office-based with regular interaction in a manufacturing environment.
* Frequent use of computers and ERP systems.
* Occasional exposure to manufacturing equipment, noise, and warehouse operations.
* Must comply with all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering production areas.
* Work onsite during core business hours, 5 days per week (M-F)
