WHY UT SOUTHWESTERN? JOB SUMMARY This position is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Hospital Facilities leader who can oversee complex construction, engineering, design, and operational initiatives while also providing strong leadership to the Facilities team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience, and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. This individual should be comfortable managing major hospital construction and transition projects, coordinating closely with contractors, designers, end users, internal departments, and outside organizations, and handling high-level responsibilities and decisions on behalf of senior leadership. The role requires someone with strong business judgment who can evaluate operational and financial decisions, apply risk management practices, understand contract pricing, support invoicing processes, and maintain oversight of staffing and engineering services. Just as important, the candidate should have a proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate employees, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and create a collaborative environment that supports successful project delivery. Strong project management and organizational skills are essential, as this person will need to manage multiple complex priorities while balancing attention to detail with a broader strategic vision. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are also important, along with the ability to exercise considerable independent judgment, solve problems proactively, and represent Hospital Facilities effectively across the organization. JOB DUTIES * Assists AVP in all aspects of facilities maintenance & operations, repairs, reporting, and oversight of renovations and construction projects. * Relieves AVP of a wide variety of internal duties and decisions, which requires thorough understanding of the functions, programs, and policies of the organization. * Manages and completes complex projects and reports, including major design and construction which may require significant contact with external departments and outside organizations. * Provides leadership to the Hospital Facilities team and creates the project environment to deliver the desired results through teamwork, support and recognition. * Evaluates and manages business decisions, employing risks management procedures to regulate contract pricing. * Assists in supporting invoicing procedures to ensure timely compilation of materials, equipment, and utilization records, to facilitate complete and accurate invoicing of customers. * Responsible for construction and engineering services, employee staffing, and oversight. * Responsible for Survey readiness and preparedness and action plans for all surveys including TJC, CAP, LVAD, Stroke, etc. * Performs other duties as assigned.
