Summary of Position

The Performing Arts Coordinator is focused on coordinating and implementing programs across the performing arts. This includes coordinating the scheduling, development, and production of events: facilitation of performances, concerts, and other arts programming, on-campus and off-campus, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Primary contact for the promotion and execution of events hosted by or participated in by programs within the Schwartz School of the Arts.This is a .833 position (full-time over 10 months, with two full months off during the summer) and is fully benefits-eligible).

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate promotion, ticketing, marketing, and event support for performing arts events, including developing timelines, identifying target audiences, producing promotional materials and programs, and maintaining website and social media content.
• Maintain the annual performing arts calendar and coordinate event programming, scheduling, and space planning with stakeholders, campus calendars, and internal Events teams.
• Coordinate complex department and event activities, including juries, auditions, meetings, travel, conferences, residencies, Advent Vespers, theater performances, Honor Band, and other annual events.
• Manage event logistics, including venue and performer contracts/requests, volunteers, box office scheduling and staffing, equipment and locker storage, inventory, and purchasing supplies and equipment as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate and collaborate with faculty and support staff in the various art disciplines of Music, Art & Design, Theater, Film and Creative Writing.
• provide logistical support for recruitment efforts across all arts disciplines. This includes scheduling on and off-campus arts activities, masterclasses, and faculty appearances.
• Research, connect, and collaborate with recruitment events, including high schools.
• Assist with school and department-wide communications.
• All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• A typical work environment is an office environment: Repetitive arm, hand, and finger motions. Regular computer keyboard, mouse and monitor use. Regular use of the telephone.
• Infrequent carrying of up to 125lbs.`
• Noise level extremes: music ensemble volume levels may be high at times.
• Long or irregular hours: events take place during weekends and evenings.
• Travel with students, faculty and/or staff during performances and tours.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; two (2) years of specialized/formal education beyond High School or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in the Arts.
• Documented experience with project management, planning, and/or organizing large-scale events.
• Documented experience with budgeting and financial planning within the scope of a project.
• Background in the performing arts.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of Computer software: Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite and Salesforce.
• Knowledge and/or experience in urban education.
• Ability to lead/teach and mentor others.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in an inclusive work environment.
• Ability to be attentive to details, be accurate, be precise.
• Ability to provide great customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment; and work independently with little supervision.

• The compensation range is $22.00- $26.00 hourly, DOQ.
