High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field and one to three years of experience in a similar functional area is preferred. Experience in advising student organizations, budget management, event management, supervision, and leading collaborative efforts is preferred.
Position Summary
The Senior Coordinator for Student Engagement supports the Engagement, Leadership, and Service ( ELS) department and reports to the Assistant Director for Student Engagement. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of student organization registration, compliance, education, and support initiatives that promote student involvement and organizational success across campus. Additionally, this position will support departmental marketing efforts and directly advise WUOG 90.5FM, the student-run radio station. In collaboration with campus partners, student leaders, faculty, staff, and organizational advisors, this position enhances student engagement opportunities, supports organizational effectiveness, and contributes to a vibrant co-curricular experience at the University of Georgia.

  • Knowledge of student development, student engagement, leadership development, and student organization advising practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex processes with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to design, facilitate, and assess educational programs, trainings, and workshops
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners, student leaders, faculty, staff, and organizational advisors
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate university policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality
  • Knowledge of budgeting, assessment practices, digital communications, and relevant technology platforms
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Student Organization Registration and Management

  • Support the Assistant Director for Student Engagement with the registration process for all student organizations.
  • Review student organization constitutions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, University policies, and institutional guidelines.
  • Support administration of the UGA Involvement Network (Encoura, formerly Anthology Engage), including organization management, event registration, attendance tracking, fundraising procedures, user support, and related operational processes.
  • Serve as a resource for student organizations, advisors, and campus partners.
  • Assist with outreach, training initiatives, and communication efforts for organizational advisors and departments supporting registered student organizations.

Advising

  • Serve as the advisor to WUOG 90.5 FM, supporting station operations, leadership development, organizational management, and oversight of station facilities and equipment maintenance.
  • Provide guidance to student leaders regarding University policies, risk management practices, FCC regulatory requirements, and ethical decision-making.
  • Advise student leadership in the development and management of organizational budgets, operational priorities, and annual goals.
  • Partner with student leaders and stakeholders to promote organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster student learning and development through mentoring, leadership coaching, and organizational support.

  • Support the development, administration, and assessment of required student organization training programs and educational resources.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, trainings, and educational initiatives for student organization leaders and advisors.
  • Collaborate on the implementation and promotion of the Engagement Coaching initiative.
  • Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of signature ELS programs and events including Engagement Fairs, Student Engagement Awards, Presidential Summits, and other departmental initiatives.

  • Directly supervise, hire, and train the part-time radio station engineer.
  • Lead departmental marketing and communications efforts, including social media management and digital communications.
  • Supervise, hire, train, and support marketing interns.
  • Assist with the management and stewardship of departmental and organizational budgets totaling approximately $90,000.
