Position Summary
The Carlson Brand Enterprise (CBE) at the Carlson School of Management seeks a part-time Associate Director to support its mission of providing MBA and undergraduate students with hands-on marketing experience. This temporary, casual employee position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about mentoring and developing future marketing professionals.

The Associate Director will play a critical role in guiding student marketing teams as they tackle real-world business challenges for leading companies and organizations. They will provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and structured problem-solving support to ensure high-quality client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
* Student Mentorship & Project Oversight
o Provide weekly guidance to student marketing teams, ensuring they apply structured problem-solving techniques, analytical rigor, and effective communication.
o Support students in conducting analyses, research, and crafting client recommendations aligned with top marketing standards.
o Help students refine storytelling, slide decks, and executive-level presentations.
* Client Engagement & Deliverables
o Ensure student teams deliver high-impact insights to clients through structured workplans, interim updates, and final recommendations.
o Offer guidance on client interactions, stakeholder management, and navigating complex business problems.
* CBE Community & Professional Development
o Participate in CBE team meetings and workshops to reinforce best practices in marketing methodologies.
o Provide ad hoc career advice and networking support to students pursuing top-tier marketing roles

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* Graduate degree (PhD, MBA, or JD) required
* At least 2 years of experience working in a Marketing position.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach students on marketing engagements
* Strong understanding of structured problem-solving, executive communication, and client management
* Availability to commit to approximately 2-5 hours per week per project

Preferred Qualifications
* Prior teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience in a business school or corporate setting
* Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects with corporate, government, or nonprofit clients
* Strong professional network within marketing industry
* Prior experience working with the Carlson Brand Enterprise

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $100-$125 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
