Tufts University is building a comprehensive, institution-wide Student Success Initiative designed to ensure that every student has the support, opportunities, and sense of belonging needed to thrive academically, personally, and professionally. Grounded in a commitment to equity, inclusion, and holistic development, the initiative brings together academic advising, student engagement, career exploration and readiness, experiential learning, along with well-being resources to create a seamless and connected student experience from matriculation through graduation.

The Student Success Initiative emphasizes proactive support, data-informed decision making, and cross-campus collaboration to strengthen student retention, persistence, and achievement. Through innovative programs, strategic partnerships, and high-impact educational experiences, the initiative seeks to help students discover purpose, build meaningful connections, develop core competencies, and achieve their goals in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

The Program Administrator for Student Success will play a key role in supporting the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of student success programs and initiatives, helping to advance Tufts' commitment to student learning, belonging, and lifelong success.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Associate Provost for Student Success, the Program Administrator for Student Success will support the development and implementation of the Student Success strategic plan and manage the Student Success programming logistics. The Program Administrator will collaborate with school partners and stakeholders and be responsible for documenting meeting notes and action items. This role will manage timelines, budgets, expenditures, logistics and participate in evaluating and learning from collaborations to improve future work. The Program Administrator will also manage marketing and communications efforts as they pertain to Student Success programming and initiatives.

The successful Program Administrator for Student Success will be a highly organized, collaborative, and student-centered professional who is passionate about advancing student success and fostering a sense of belonging for all students. This individual will possess strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, manage complex initiatives, and support data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and resourceful, able to build effective partnerships across schools while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. A commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement, coupled with the ability to translate strategic goals into effective programs and operations, will be essential to supporting the success and impact of Tufts University's Student Success Initiative. The ideal candidate will also make themselves available for events, conferences, and meetings, occasionally during evenings and weekends.
  • Support development of strategy, goals, and content focused on Student Success initiatives across the Tufts schools.
  • Support the team in developing new and existing Tufts school partnerships.
  • Provide direct support on emerging and existing projects in collaboration with Tufts schools including the JUMP-IN program, Impact Coaches program, and other initiatives that create opportunities for holistic student success.
  • Support development of and document processes, and best practices of projects for record-keeping, reflection, and evaluation.
  • Manage program marketing and communication needs as they arise and advertise relevant opportunities to students through various channels as appropriate.
  • Actively attend Student Success programming and participate in relevant meetings, committees, workshops, and trainings as needed.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • Associate's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience OR a
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and executing programming in higher education or a related field.
  • Experience managing collaborations and projects within and across organizations.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building inclusive collaborations and programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and be a team player.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Proficient in survey design, administration, and data analysis.

Pay Range

Minimum $61,200.00, Midpoint $76,500.00, Maximum $91,800.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
