Sr. Product Manager, Menu Product Franchise World Headquarters, LLC Why Join Subway? At Subway, we are not standing still. We are building. This is a business focused on what matters most: growing franchisee profitability, strengthening our brand and creating long-term value. The people who thrive here are the ones who want to make a real impact. You will not just do the work. You will shape it. We move fast. We think like owners. We make decisions that matter. We hold ourselves to a high standard because what we do directly impacts thousands of franchisees around the world. If you bring energy, accountability and a bias for action, you will fit right in. We take the work seriously, but we also know the best results come from teams that support each other, celebrate wins and show up ready to build something better every day. This is your chance to be part of what's next. Position Overview The Sr. PM, Menu Product is an individual contributor role responsible for shaping strategy and driving large-scale initiatives across the menu and product management domain - not just executing what's handed down, but framing the problems worth solving and building the case for them. This person partners directly with cross-functional leaders across Culinary, Franchise, Technology, and Operations, and presents strategy, trade-offs, and progress to senior leadership, translating executive priorities into a coherent domain roadmap. Backlog health and stakeholder solutioning are part of how the role executes that strategy, but it is defined by strategic and cross-leadership scope, not by task throughput. Responsibilities * Shape the strategy for the menu and product management domain and how it ladders up to Subway's broader menu workflow transformation, partnering directly with the Sr. Director and cross-functional leaders to define it. * Own the roadmap and business case for large-scale, multi-quarter initiatives within the domain - not just day-to-day backlog items - translating executive priorities into a coherent plan the team executes against. * Partner directly with Director-level and above leaders across Culinary, Franchise, Technology, and Operations to align domain strategy with organizational priorities and secure buy-in for major initiatives. * Present strategy, trade-offs, and roadmap progress directly to senior leadership, shaping investment and prioritization decisions rather than just reporting status. * Own and maintain a healthy product backlog for engineering partners across the menu and product management domain, setting the standard other PMs' backlogs are measured against. * Set the vision and direction for backlog and initiative prioritization within the domain, such that other PMs and stakeholders align their own asks to it rather than working around it. * Work directly with stakeholders across Culinary, Franchise, Technology, and Operations to identify opportunities and bring them through solutioning to a shippable plan; be the person stakeholders bring ambiguous asks to directly. * Serve as the escalation point when other PMs need a scope or sequencing call made. * Write specs, PRDs, and requirements that pre-empt stakeholder objections rather than just surviving review - clear enough that other PMs use them as a template for their own. * Build and maintain the metrics and dashboards the domain uses to make strategic and backlog decisions. * Anticipate cross-system and cross-team risk before it surfaces, and build mitigation into the plan rather than reacting to it. * Set or improve processes for backlog grooming, intake, and prioritization that other teams adopt. * Represent the guest and franchisee perspective in strategic and prioritization trade-offs, pushing back when business pressure would produce a worse outcome for either. * Formally mentor and coach PMs, including ones outside your immediate team. Qualifications * Experience shaping product or workflow strategy - not just executing against a strategy defined by others - with a track record of translating that strategy into a roadmap leadership signs off on. * Experience presenting to and influencing Director-level or above stakeholders, including shaping their decisions, not just informing them. * 5-7 years of experience in product management, engineering, product strategy, or a closely related technical field. * Track record of managing a product backlog for engineering teams and translating stakeholder needs into well-scoped, shippable initiatives. * Demonstrated ability to set direction and quality standards that other PMs align to. * Experience building metrics or dashboards used by a broader team or domain for decision-making. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization without direct authority over contributors or stakeholders. * Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Experience formally mentoring or coaching other PMs. Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience in a Menu, Culinary, or Product organization, or comparable experience in a QSR or multi-unit retail environment. * Experience in a franchise or multi-unit restaurant business model. * Experience with agile backlog management tools and practices (e.g., Jira, sprint/cycle planning). * Experience partnering with global or multi-region teams. What do we offer? * Insurance Plans (Medical, Life) * Pension/401K/RSP (country specific) * Competitive Bonus * Mobility Allowance * Tuition Reimbursement * Company Holidays * Volunteering time * And More..... | |
