Position Overview:

A General Assembler is responsible for operating equipment in a factory or warehouse and preparing items for distribution. Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce products.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Assemble components accurately, thoroughly, and quickly to approve specifications and quality standards
  • Place parts in specified relationship to each other
  • Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together
  • Tends machines, such as automated machinery, to perform operations on assembly line
  • Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to be familiar with all assembly
  • Communicate with other stations on the assembly line to ensure maximum speed and accuracy
  • Routinely practice 6s (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Ensure that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials
  • Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste
  • Pack up completed products and prepares them for shipment
  • Report issues or problems with production (equipment defects) to immediate Supervisor
  • Observe and removes fault product parts from assembly line
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others into daily activities.
  • Attend required safety training and participate in safety exercises
  • Develop and maintains a clean, safe working environment for self and co-workers
  • Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity
  • Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel components or using controls on an assembly machine
  • Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, 15 pounds, & 20 pounds
  • Required to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Often performing repetitious motions
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Able to perform job duties safely.
